From the humblest of beginnings in a converted horse stable, what is now ademke GROUP LIMITED (formerly Architectural Outfitters Limited) was started by Justin Samuda back in January of 2004. After a brief stint in Miami where he worked in project management and marketing for companies such as FORTUNE Magazine and Universal Studios, Justin could no longer ignore the call of home. Recently engaged at the time and inspired by memories of his parent’s furniture factory of the 1980’s -- he set out to try his hand at a family passion.

The original aim was to provide high quality, custom-designed home furnishings at affordable prices. This strategy led them to discover a niche in outdoor furniture – with limited variety and somewhat under supplied at the time, the team took the decision to develop its own unique line of island inspired patio furniture. The Adirondack is now part of its signature collection, but back then, it was the very first piece to be developed under this new vision. A fresh island take on an American classic, this creatively crafted and meticulously hand finished chair soon set the standard by which all others would be judged. With its wave-mimicking leg design, its welcoming ‘pineapple motif’ backrest and the rich, ever-changing tone of its local hardwood, it was clearly evident to all involved that they had successfully captured the culture and customs of the Caribbean.

Encouraged by this outcome and believing that every outdoor space, from the grandest garden to the coziest balcony, now had the potential to be island chic – Justin set out developing more pieces that combined durability and style with functionality. With features such as cocktail-conforming armrests, gently cambered seats, and of course -- the signature pineapple motif, the line not only reflected the real traditions and beauty of Jamaica, but in only a few years assured itself a place in many hotels and villas around the island and the wider caribbean.

In and about 2008 – 2009 after branching out and manufacturing a series of successful window and door projects, the team secured the distribution for Deltana Architectural Hardware. Deltana inventories America's largest selection of architectural and door hardware in over nine fine finishes made from solid brass, zinc, aluminum, steel and stainless steel. This connection opened new avenues for the group as the first-hand knowledge of woodwork coupled with the experienced gained as an project manager/installer soon led to a strategic alliance with Dougall Windows and Doors, whereby Architectural Outfitters (now ademke) became the installer of choice for their high-end doors and windows. This relationship blossomed, and soon the group would find itself in the unique position of providing not only installation services but also furniture and architectural hardware on some of the very same project. It was there that the term #thefittingchoice was coined as the team soon became the sought-after choice for fittings, furniture and finishes in Jamaica.
